 Write a letter that is fresh, spontaneous and specifically tailored to the student.

 
         One of the cardinal sins some teachers commit is to write the same thing about each student.
 
 
         Teachers need to realize that many colleges read by school. You can kill a candidate if the letters of recommendation are of the "cookie cutter" variety.
 
 
         I can't tell you how many times I've seen this.
